- Digital signatures associated with flights, provided for convenience without legal or certification value
2.3 Usage data
We automatically collect information about how you use the application, including usage events and performance data. This helps us improve the service and user experience and adapt certain interfaces, such as subscription screens, to your usage profile.
2.4 Technical data
We may collect technical information about your device, such as device type, operating system, and unique identifiers required to operate the application.
2.5 Third-party data
You may enter data about other people, such as co-pilots, instructors, or examiners. This data is stored and processed under the same conditions as your other flight data. You are responsible for ensuring that entering it is lawful.
3. Purposes of processing
We process personal data to:
- Provide your digital logbook, manage subscriptions, synchronize devices, and generate reports and exports
- Analyze and improve features and performance, diagnose problems, and adapt certain interfaces
- Contact you about your account or important application updates
- Meet our legal and regulatory obligations
4. Legal bases
4.1 Performance of a contract
Processing account and flight data and managing subscriptions are necessary to perform the service contract you accept when using Skyden.
4.2 Legitimate interests
We analyze usage data based on our legitimate interest in improving the service, subject to your rights and freedoms.
4.3 Legal obligations
We may process or retain data where necessary to comply with legal obligations, including accounting and tax obligations, or to answer a legally valid request from a competent authority.
5. Data sharing and transfers
5.1 No commercial disclosure
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes.
5.2 Processors
We use service providers in these categories:
- Hosting and synchronization: cloud infrastructure that stores and synchronizes flight data
- Subscription and payment management: App Store services that process transactions and subscriptions
- Analytics and product improvement: tools that help us understand usage and improve features
- User support: tools used to manage support requests
These processors are subject to contractual confidentiality and security obligations consistent with the GDPR.
5.3 Legal requirements
We may disclose data when required by law or in response to a request from a competent judicial or administrative authority.
5.4 Data location
Your data is mainly stored and processed on servers in the European Union. Where data is transferred outside the EU, we ensure that appropriate GDPR safeguards are in place.
6. Retention
6.1 Active accounts
We retain your data while your account is active so that we can provide the service.
6.2 Inactivity or subscription end
If you stop using Skyden without deleting your account, we retain flight logs for up to 10 years so that you can recover them, based on our legitimate interest in protecting your professional traceability. After prolonged inactivity, we may remind you that the data exists and let you choose whether to retain or delete it.
6.3 Deletion on request
When you delete your account or request erasure, personal data is immediately removed from active systems. Copies in technical backups are removed through normal backup-rotation cycles.
6.4 Automatic deletion
After 10 years without reactivation or instructions from you, residual data is permanently deleted from our servers.
6.5 Billing data
Skyden does not receive or store your bank details because Apple processes payments. We may retain transaction and subscription information supplied by Apple where needed to manage subscriptions and meet accounting and tax obligations for the legally required period.
6.6 Analytics data
Anonymized usage data may be kept longer to improve the service.
7. Data security
We use appropriate technical and organizational safeguards against unauthorized destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure, or access. These include encryption in transit and at rest, secure authentication, regular backups, access controls, and system monitoring. No security system is infallible, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

You can export flight data as PDF or CSV/Excel at any time. You can also delete your account and associated data through the application or by contacting us.
10. Cookies and similar technologies
Skyden uses technologies similar to cookies to operate and improve the application. They may remember preferences, keep your session active, and collect anonymized usage statistics. Strictly necessary technologies are enabled by default. Technologies that require consent are enabled only after your choice, which you can later change in the application settings.
